2023 Impact Statistics
Every year Soft Power Health reaches over 55,000 people
with primary, preventative healthcare and health education.
In 2023 — 35,000 patients (averaging 120 patients a day) were seen and treated at the clinic. Patients pay $5.50 for consultation with a doctor, lab testing, and all medication they need. Over 20,000 people received education, prevention, and treatment through outreach programs for malaria, family planning, malnutrition, domestic violence, organic gardening, and physiotherapy.
• Hypertension: the most common disease diagnosed at the clinic with over 7,000 patients treated.
• Malaria: 2,200 cases of malaria were treated at the clinic.
• Schistosomiasis: 51% of residents in Kyabirwa village infected with this neglected tropical disease.
• Pediatric: 5,500 pediatric patients treated — 26% were diagnosed with acute malnutrition and more than 350 doses of prescriptive high energy milk were provided to treat malnutrition.
• Physical Therapy: Over 2,600 physiotherapy patients were treated. Lower back pain was the common condition treated at the clinic and cerebral palsy was the most commonly treated disease in outreach.
• Dental: 285 dental patients were treated by Dr. Paul. Periodontal disease was the most common condition treated.
• Domestic violence: Nearly 800 patients were counseled by the domestic violence team -- 75% of the domestic violence victims are women with emotional violence being the most reported type of violence.
• Development in Gardening (DIG): One clinic home garden, 15 community outreach gardens and 1 community demo garden for a total of 17 gardens cultivated. The clinic demo garden provides the staff lunchtime meal and 15 outreach gardens provide food, nutrition support, and income for community members in need.

• Malaria Outreach: over 1,850 people attended malaria education and follow up sessions in 80 villages and 3 districts with 1,600 nets sold.
• Family planning: Family planning outreach works in 39 villages quarterly, delivering long-term family planning to over 4,150 individuals.
• Malnutrition: 1,800 families participated in malnutrition outreach and follow up programs. Deworming with albendazole reached over 3,150 children. Prevention of blindness with Vitamin A supplementation was provided to 3,200 children, and over 25,000 pregnant or lactating mothers received maternal vitamins.
